FS#157 - Ardour - documentation : "vu-mètre" [débutant]

the ardour master meter is by default a K20, not a digital-peak meter, but a loudness meter.

Q : What does the peak hold show in contrast to the visual meter?
R : the numeric display above is digital peak (as per K-meter specs)

the bar-graph is mostly "loudness as percieved by humans"
is "message" related. digital-peak is "medium" related
medium: ie don't clip, don't exceeded the physical limits

a good intro to k-meters is http://www.digido.com/how-to-make-better-recordings-part-2.html "Title: How to Make Better Recordings Part 2 - Digital Domain: CD Mastering | Mastered for iTunes | Audio Mastering | Blu-Ray Mastering "

Metering can be a deep subject. You can right click on the meter and change its type
http://manual.ardour.org/ardours-interface/meters/ has a short overview
