discussion rapide avec las et rgareus:

<olinuxx> I've been trying the SAFE plugins with Ardour 4.6 yesterday. When launching one plugins, it does work as expected. Now, if I'm launching a second one, then ardour segfault
<olinuxx> before digging into it, is that a known thing ?
<las> olinuxx: plugins crashing hosts is a known thing
<rgareus> olinuxx: safe-mode only affect "session load"
<las> olinuxx: never heard of the SAFE plugins before
<las> rgareus: http://www.semanticaudio.co.uk/
<rgareus> aah SAFE plugins -- not ardour's -D
<olinuxx> yep, I'm just testing them out of curiosity
<las> olinuxx: debugging required. http://ardour.org/debugging_ardour
<las> olinuxx: you're on OS X, i assume?
<las> olinuxx: going to be a bit harder there
<olinuxx> no las , linux
<olinuxx> debian jessie to be precise
<las> olinuxx: they make them available for linux?
<rgareus> las: and the source, too
<rgareus> https://github.com/semanticaudio/SAFE
<las> oh nice
<olinuxx> the source coede is available yes
<las> olinuxx: get a backtrace
<olinuxx> yep', will look into it
<las> olinuxx: also, *might* be wise to test this with a nightly build
<olinuxx> ok
<olinuxx> FYI, there are gpl v3 licensed
<rgareus> olinuxx: they do use fftw; if don't use an official ardour-binary (with a prerelease of fftw) https://github.com/FFTW/fftw3/issues/16 is probably the cause
<rgareus> it's fine for one plugin but adding a 2nd one will crash
<olinuxx> oh, thanks for the hints, it does look to be my case
<olinuxx> rgareus, so, using a nighlty build would do the tricks?
<rgareus> it can also happen with a single plugin, if you enable ardour's built-in analysis
<rgareus> olinuxx: assuming the plugin is dynamically linked against fftw, yes
<olinuxx> will test this tongiht hopefully
<rgareus> if they statically link against fftw, the plugin(s) will also protected themselves against concurrent planner calls
<olinuxx> mmm, I wish I could understand your sentence :)
<rgareus> (changing ardour to use a single CPU core only might help in the latter case)
<rgareus> olinuxx: ldd /path/to/plugin.so | grep fftw. if the plugin uses system-wide libfftw from /usr/lib you're good
<olinuxx> rgareus, this command give me nothing back (only the prompt, obviously)

J'ai commencé à tester rapidement, c'est toujours plantogène, certains greffons plantent Ardour à l'insertion, parfois non, mais avec 2 greffons simultanés, c'est le crash assuré.
